Driving on Drugs with Drugs for Sale in the Car
Monday, October 30: at 12:59 a.m., Sheriff's deputies pulled over and arrested a 20-year-old man who refused to give his home address on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs, driving without a valid driver’s license, and possessing various quantities of illegal narcotics, methamphetamines, fentanyl, and marijuana bagged for sale. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near the Interstate 580 freeway when deputies stopped him for a traffic violation. The suspect was taken into custody.
Vandalism Arrest Reveals Warrant
Sunday, October 29: at 11:40 a.m., a 37-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested for vandalism at a liquor store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies were called to the scene after the manager called about an unruly customer. The man was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest for a previous charge of possessing stolen property. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
In Contempt of Court Order
Friday, October 27: at 2:31 p.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order. The man was spotted within the 100-yard limit near a business on Charlene Way he was supposed to stay away from. Deputies were called to the scene and took the man into custody.
Reckless Driving
Wednesday, October 25: at 11:37 p.m., a 27-year-old man was arrested for reckless driving on westbound Interstate 580. Deputies chased the man to the offramp at Eden Canyon Road and pulled him over. The man had been speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Deputies took him into custody.
Car Thief Caught with Burglar Tools
Wednesday, October 25: at 3:56 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of possessing a stolen vehicle and burglar tools to pick locks. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Norbridge Avenue when deputies identified the vehicle as stolen. During questioning, they found the burglar tools in his pockets. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Caught with Stolen Property
Wednesday, October 25: at 9:15 a.m., a 30-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue, where they discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.
Assault and Battery
Monday, October 23: at 3:15 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Regent Way near John Drive. There, they arrested a 19-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and battery on a family member. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Two Grocery Stores Robbed at the Same Time
Monday, October 23: at 5:19 p.m., deputies arrested three women at two different Safeway grocery stores on robbery and drug possession charges. Two women, ages 23 and 25, were stopped by security outside the Safeway at the 580 Market Place on East Castro Valley Boulevard. At the same time, a 21-year-old woman was detained at the Safeway on Redwood Road. Deputies did not report if the two robberies were coordinated. All three women were taken to Santa Rita Jail.
