Elder Abuse and Assault
Sunday, October 31: at 9:21 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 50-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault, elder abuse, and violating a court-issued restraining order. The man was spotted within 100 feet of a home on Somerset Avenue near Betrose Court. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Reckless Driving, Evaded Arrest
Sunday, October 31: at 4:10 p.m., a 40-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, evading arrest, and damage of public property. Deputies pursued the man down Heyer Avenue for speeding in the area until he crashed the car near Corey Way. The man was taken into custody.
Domestic Disturbance
Sunday, October 31: at 3:45 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on James Avenue near Helton Street. There, they arrested a 39-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Joy Ride Ends in Arrest
Sunday, October 31: at 12:32 a.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving a stolen car, possession of burglar tools, violating the terms of his parole, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. The man was traveling on Center Street near Grove Way when deputies pulled him over as the car was reported stolen. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Drugs in Her Pocket
Sunday, October 31: at 8:22 p.m., a 21-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning outside a business on Grove Way near Redwood Road when they discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.
Petty Theft
Friday, October 29: at 1:36 p.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of petty theft, possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia, and providing a false ID. The man was apprehended outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near the Castro Village Shopping Center. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.
Wanted Woman
Thursday, October 28: at 1:35 p.m., a 50-year-old woman was arrested as part of a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies stopped the woman outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue where they made a positive identification and served the warrant. The woman was previously charged with felony robbery. She was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Wednesday, October 27: at 1:10 p.m., deputies arrested an 18-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The woman was at an apartment on Wisteria Street near Ganic Street when deputies responded to an altercation at the residence. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Wanted Man Caught Near BART
Wednesday, October 27: at 10:24 p.m., a 31-year-old man was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. Deputies caught up with the man and made a positive identification when they approached him on Norbridge Avenue in the BART parking lot. The man had been previously charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, illegal possession of tear gas, and breaking and entering. At the time of his arrest, deputies also charged the man with possession of illegal narcotics, methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Charged with Felony Robbery
Monday, October 25: at 6:11 p.m., deputies arrested a 47-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of felony robbery at a business on Redwood Road near Grove Way. The man was caught leaving the store with unpaid merchandise when deputies were called to the scene. Deputies took the man into custody.
Warrant Served for Grand Theft
Monday, October 25: at 11:03 a.m., a 30-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies served the warrant in front of a home on Redwood Road near Vegas Avenue after spotting the man and making a positive ID. The man had previously been charged with grand theft, exposing himself in public, and interfering with a business. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Charged with Elder Abuse
Monday, October 25: at 7:00 p.m., deputies arrested a 54-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of elder abuse and violating a court-issued restraining order. The woman was spotted at a home on Laurelwood Drive near Rawhide Way visiting an older relative she was ordered to stay away from. Deputies handcuffed the woman and took her into custody. The senior was treated at the scene.
