Attacker Had a Ghost Gun
Sunday, October 24: at 2:45 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 30-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of assault on a family member, possession of an illegal assault weapon, and possession of an unregistered weapon. The man was staying at a motel on East Castro Valley Boulevard near Justco Lane where the manager received reports of an altercation. Deputies apprehended the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Stolen Car, Burglar Tools, Drugs for Sale
Sunday, October 24: at 12:32 a.m., a 28-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglar tools, and illegal drugs packaged for sale. Deputies pulled the car over in front of a business on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Thief Banned from Center
Saturday, October 23: at 3:54 a.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order asking him to stay away from a church on Grove Way near Redwood Road. The man was spotted on the property interfering with the church center when deputies arrived. Deputies also charged the man with possession of stolen property and possession of a stolen vehicle. The man was taken into custody.
Two Charged with Illegal Entry
Friday, October 22: at 5:05 p.m., two people from Castro Valley were arrested on suspicion of illegal entry into a business and possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies responded to a silent alarm at a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road where they found the two suspects. A 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were taken into custody.
Public Nuisance at Adobe Park
Saturday, October 23: at 5:31 p.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of creating a public nuisance and breaking into public property at Adobe Park on San Miguel Avenue. The man was spotted causing the disturbance and attempting to gain access to a restricted area. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.
Charged with Arson, Theft
Saturday, October 23: at 12:31 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering, possession of burglar tools, arson, theft during an emergency, violating the terms of a restraining order, and resisting arrest. Deputies responded along with firefighters to an incident at an apartment complex on Santa Maria Avenue near Jamison Way. The man was spotted trying to flee during the incident. Deputies caught up with the suspect and took him into custody.
Wanted Violent Sex Offender Caught
Thursday, October 21: at 2:06 p.m., deputies arrested a 48-yar-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was at an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way when deputies served the warrant because the man was out of compliance with his parole. The man had been previously charged with rape and sodomy of a minor in his custody. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail and held him without bail.
Public Intoxication
Thursday, October 21: at 9:26 p.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of an illegal “camouflaged firearm container.” Deputies caught up with the man outside a business on Redwood Road near Redwood Court. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Couple Charged with Spousal Assault
Thursday, October 21: at 10:38 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on David Street near Center Street. There, they arrested two women from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault. The 39-year-old and a 40-year-old couple were handcuffed and taken into custody.
Charged with Elder Abuse
Monday, October 18: at 4:35 p.m., deputies arrested a 43-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of elder abuse, two counts of theft, and possession of stolen property. The woman was stopped at a home on Grove Way near North 5th Street where deputies received complaints of suspicious activity. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
