Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest

Sunday, September 26: at 12:57 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies pulled over and arrested two men from Castro Valley as part of a traffic stop on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center. The driver, a 37-year-old, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest. The passenger, a 38-year-old, was charged with assault and battery as well as resisting arrest. Deputies handcuffed the men and took them into custody.

Resisted Arrest

Monday, September 27 at 3:57 a.m., a 57-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning outside an apartment building on Center Street near Grove Way. The woman revealed she had a pipe used for smoking drugs but became confrontational and resisted arrest. Deputies took her into custody.

Destroying Private Property

Saturday, September 25: at 12:15 a.m., deputies arrested a 56-year-old woman with no permanent residence on suspicion of destroying private property, public intoxication, and resisting arrest. The woman was spotted causing damage outside a business on Redwood Road near Vegas Avenue. Deputies report the woman smelled of alcohol and failed her field sobriety test. The woman then became confrontational and tried to get away. Deputies took the woman into custody.

Public Nuisance 

Friday, September 24: at 6:09 p.m., a 67-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of creating a public nuisance. Deputies responded to a noise complaint at a home on Charlene Way near Redwood Road only to find the woman making an unspecified type of commotion. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Two Arrested for Grand Theft

Friday, September 24: at 3:15 a.m., deputies arrested two men from Castro Valley on suspicion of grand theft, possession of burglar tools, and possession of illegal narcotics for sale. The men, aged 28 and 21, were traveling on Redwood Road when deputies pulled them over into a parking lot near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies identified the vehicle as stolen and discovered the drugs during the investigation. The men were taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Public Intoxication

Thursday, September 23: at 9:46 p.m., a 55-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a business on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center. The man smelled of alcohol and failed his field sobriety test. Deputies took the man to a sobering center.

Breaking and Entering

Wednesday, September 22: at 3:26 a.m., deputies arrested two men with no permanent residence on suspicion of breaking and entering a business on Grove Way near Center Street. The 38-year-old suspect was additionally charged with possession of burglar tools and possession of methamphetamine drugs. The 39-year-old suspect was additionally charged with possession of illegal narcotics and related drug paraphernalia. Deputies took the men to Santa Rita Jail.

Driving Under the Influence

Tuesday, September 21: at 9:29 a.m., a 61-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving with an invalid driver’s license. Deputies stopped the man on Edwards Lane near Center Street following a traffic stop. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Senior Robbery Suspect

Monday, September 20: at 12:36 p.m., deputies arrested a 61-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of robbery at a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Chester Street. The woman was spotted on surveillance cameras, prompting the business to dispatch deputies to the scene. Deputies handcuffed the woman and took her into custody.
