Sheriff's Report: September 6 - 13

Public Intoxication

Sunday, September 12: at 3:16 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 27-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was stopped for questioning outside a gas station near the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and Lake Chabot Road after a manager reported an intoxicated man outside the store. Deputies report the man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.

 

Man Exposes Himself 

Saturday, September 11: at 5:45 a.m., a 54-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of exposing himself in public. Deputies responded to reports of a half-naked man on the side of the road of Lake Chabot Road half a mile north of Fairmont Drive. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Family Assault

Friday, September 10: at 8:15 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Buren Place near Greenville Place. There, they arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Contempt of Court

Friday, September 10: at 12:32 p.m., deputies arrested a 50-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of contempt of court. The woman was hanging outside a business on Santa Maria Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies approached her for questioning. The woman had been ordered to stay away from the business after being asked by the manager to leave. Deputies took the woman into custody.

 

One Too Many

Thursday, September 9: at 10:20 p.m., a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside an apartment on Forest Avenue near Berdina Road when they noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Resisting Arrest

Thursday, September 9: at 12:00 a.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and resisting arrest. The man was traveling on Center Street near Grove Way when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man became confrontational and tried to get away. Deputies took him into custody.

 

Wanted Man Fought the Law

Thursday, September 9: at 8:35 a.m., a 44-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies spotted the man on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard and made a positive identification. The man had previously been charged with assault and battery as well as assault on a prison guard. Deputies also found the man to be in possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Felon Had Loaded Weapons

Wednesday, September 8: at 2:32 a.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of multiple counts of illegal firearms possession, ammunition possession, and possession of untraceable weapons and concealed weapons. The man, who had been previously convicted of a felony, was traveling on Redwood Road near Watson Street when deputies pulled him over and discovered his cache of weapons. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
