The public is invited to a free talk by Khristel Johnson on Saturday, April 29, 2-4 pm at the studio adjacent to Adobe Art Center. Free parking. Children are welcome. Khristel Johnson will exhibit some of her 50 quilted tapestries honoring the African American Experience, and talk about her inspiration and techniques. Khristel has been an educator for over 30 years, and constructs her quilts with Marcus Garvey’s words in mind: “A people without knowledge of their history and culture is like a tree without roots.” This talk is part of a series of Saturday demos by local artists put on by A.R.T., Inc.
