Castro Valley native Katherine Vaz returns to celebrate the publication of her latest novel, Above the Salt, on Sunday, June 9 at 2 pm. Above the Salt, a sweeping love story that follows two Portuguese refugees who flee religious violence and reignite their budding romance in Civil-War America. Ms. Vaz is the author of five other books and is the first Portuguese-American to have her work recorded by the Library of Congress. Refreshments will be provided.
