Las Positas College (LPC) is excited to announce its annual Literary Arts Festival on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Mertes Center for the Arts, Building 4000 on campus. The festival will showcase a variety of literary works, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction and more. This event is open to the public, and admission is free.
The festival will feature Tommy Orange, American Book Award winner and author of "There There." Orange will sit down for a fireside chat with LPC English Professor and author of "The Spitboy Rule,” Michelle Cruz Gonzales.
Additionally, NY Times #1 bestselling author Bruce Henderson will be joined by LPC English Professor Dr. Jim Ott for a discussion, followed by LPC student Veterans sharing their thoughts on writing about their military experiences. Attendees can also enjoy panels, workshops, book signings, food trucks, music and activities for children from the local libraries.

LPC student veteran writing
Asian American histories
Young adult fiction
Workshops in fiction writing
Memoir writing, feminist writing
Publishing workshop
Slam poetry workshop
20th annual LPC Poetry Slam
Publication ceremony for Havik, LPC’s award-winning journal of arts and literature.
The festival is free, but seating is limited. Registration is encouraged.
