Free Soil Lead Testing at Cherryland Eggstravaganza
Curious about the safety of your soil for gardening or kids’ activities? Please join us at the Cherryland Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11 am to 3 pm for a free, fast soil screening for lead. Look for our booth! Bring a soil sample from your yard in a Ziploc bag, and we will screen it for lead. Our partners will be there to share information on: your soil test result, best practices to avoid lead exposure, tips to garden safely, resources for blood lead testing, family activities for all! Location: Meek Estate Park in the Cherryland neighborhood at 240 Hampton Rd., Hayward, CA 94541.

Help Improve Transportation
Castro Valley Matters, along with BikewalkCV, is participating in a series of focus groups and a local pop-up to assist the Alameda County Transportation Commission in their I-580 Transit and Multimodal Strategy, which seeks to improve transportation along the I-580 freeway from the Bay Bridge through the Altamont Pass.
Come attend the event to help us explore ways to expand transportation options, improve safety and access, and reduce air pollution in nearby communities.

CVEA Chamber Mixer
Jan 18, 5:30-7PM—Chamber board installation mixer for 2023 directors & officers at the Cherryland Community Center. We picked this location to showcase the brand new community center in Cherryland, and again spreading our focus on ALL areas of the unincorporated County. Supervisor Miley has confirmed he will be there for our swearing in. We’d love to have you join us as well if your schedule allows.
