Spring Easter Musical (Saturday)

Redwood Chapel would like to invite you to the spring Easter musical full of inspiration, community spirit, and faith on March 29th and March 30th at 6:30 PM.

Join the community in the mesmerizing orchestra, vocals, and acting of Castro Valley residents who will dive deep into the timeless question: Who actually is Jesus? and bring to life his teachings and impact on humanity. Following the show, attendees will have a unique opportunity to submit their questions about the message to be answered on-stage in a short panel discussion.

Before the curtains rise, we invite the community to our immersive exhibit in the lobby, where the spotlight will shine on the stories of local Castro Valley residents. This exhibit weaves together the diverse tapestry of our community's journey with faith and the profound transformation that comes with the Easter story.

Don’t miss out on this unforgettable Easter experience that goes beyond the stage!

HARD 79th Annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District will be hosting the 79th Annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade on Satuday, March 30 beginning at 9am at Kennedy Park (19501 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward). Bonnet Parade restration will begin promptly at 9am. The Bonnet Parade, led by the Bunny, will begin right after the egg hunt. Bonnet Parade participants must be 6 years and under. All bonnets must be homemade and be worn by the participants during the parade to qualify. The Egg Hunt will start directly at 10am. THe event will take place rain or shine.

Help Improve Transportation

Castro Valley Matters, along with BikewalkCV, is participating in a series of focus groups and a local pop-up to assist the Alameda County Transportation Commission in their I-580 Transit and Multimodal Strategy, which seeks to improve transportation along the I-580 freeway from the Bay Bridge through the Altamont Pass.

Come attend the event to help us explore ways to expand transportation options, improve safety and access, and reduce air pollution in nearby communities.

Free Castro Valley Easter Egg Hunt

Taking place on Saturday, April 8 at Castro Valley’s Adobe Park, hundreds of children are expected to attend the Castro Valley Easter Egg Hunt event for 2023. Individual hunts are planned for different age groups, plus a dedicated section for children with special needs. Activities include: facepainting, balloon animal art, AC Sheriff’s Dept, food truck snacks and beverages, Tensile hair extension, Art and craft table, and local business booths. No cost to participate.

HARD's 78th Annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) invites the community to the 78th Annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet Parade This annual spring tradition for H.A.R.D. will take place at Kennedy Park on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

New this year, the annual event will start with the Egg Hunt for children from 1 to 9 year-olds. The hunt will commence at 10:00 a.m. sharp. There will be age-specific areas where children hunt for eggs: one for 1 to 2-year-olds; another for 3- to 4-year-olds; a third for 5- to 6-year-olds; with the last one being for 7- to 9-year-olds.

The Bonnet Parade, led by the Bunny, will begin after the Egg Hunt. The Bonnet Parade registration will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Bonnet Parade participants must be 6 years and under and all bonnets must be homemade and be worn by the participants during the parade to qualify. Participants will have their homemade bonnets judged in the following categories: the prettiest, most unusual, and most colorful.

 The event will take place rain or shine.

St. Gerard Women's Club Easter Bake Sale & Raffle will be held at St. John’s Church Community Room, 264 E.Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo, beginning at 4pm on April 1 and ending at 2pm on April 2.  There will be baked goods, Portuguese Bread, Trinkets & Treasures, Raffle and Raffle Bag and Continental Breakfast.  Please come and enjoy a fun-filled day.
