Hope Hospice Offers Free Grief Workshop
For people who are processing the loss of a loved one, the winter holiday season can be painful. Experiencing grief at this time may intensify feelings of loneliness or anxiety about being asked how you are coping. You may feel disinclined to participate in holiday gatherings to avoid such questions, or because you feel lost without your loved one by your side.
Hope Hospice offers this one-hour workshop as a safe space to discuss the unique considerations of grieving during the winter holiday season. We also will talk about how to prepare for gatherings that you choose to attend, as well as spending time alone to honor the memory of your loved one privately.
Although this workshop is offered over Zoom, space is still limited due to the interactive nature of the presentation. There is no charge to attend. Choose from one of following dates; the program is the same. To register, call our Grief Support Department at (925) 829-8770 or submit an inquiry form at: HopeHospice.com/grief.

Hearing a medical professional confirm that the memory issues you (or a loved one) have been experiencing are, in fact, early symptoms of dementia would understandably be cause for concern. Signs of Dementia Versus Normal Aging
Have you ever worried whether some of the memory challenges you or a loved one are experiencing are “normal?” Could they be a sign of something else? As we age, our brains and our bodies undergo changes. We may experience instances where we process information more slowly, or we may have trouble recalling names or dates; these can be examples of typical age-related changes. But what are the indicators that these changes may be due to something more serious such as mild cognitive impairment or dementia? When might it be time to visit the doctor for an evaluation? Hope Hospice’s dementia specialists will discuss these questions and other food for thought.
