Family Cycling Workshop

Castro Valley Matters is pleased to bring Bike East Bay’s “Family Cycling Workshop” to the Castro Valley BART station parking lot on Saturday, March 9, 10am-1pm. This free workshop is geared toward “kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the roads and pathways with their parents.” Following the workshop, join BikeWalkCV for a casual ride to the Japanese Gardens in Hayward.

BikeMobile Free Bike Repair

Is your bike making mystery sounds?  Is it in your garage collecting dust because it has a flat tire?  If so, come down to the Castro Valley Library and join us for this FREE bicycle repair clinic, hosted by BikeMobile of Alameda County.  The BikeMobile can fix flat tires, adjust brakes and gears, and even replace worn out parts (The only thing it can’t do is replace missing wheels or gears).

While the mechanics work on your bike they'll explain how your bike works and how to keep it running smooth. Bikes will be repaired on a first come, first serve basis.

The BikeMobile (BMB) is a mobile bicycle repair clinic that offers schools, community organizations, and public events in Alameda County free bike repair services, and bike mechanics & safety education.

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least three business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.

Primavera Century Bike Ride

Primavera Century Bike Ride

Starting from Mission San Jose High School, Fremont. Routes are the 25 mile, mostly flat Fun Ride, 100 km metric century and 100 mile century. Climb the challenging Calaveras Wall, then cycle the scenic route along Calaveras Reservoir. Ride past Livermore vineyards and wineries. The longer routes have lunch at a winery, then it’s back to the start for a hearty meal. All routes are fully supported with SAG and rest stops.
