• Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) generally meets on land-use issues at 6 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, and holds general purpose meetings at 6 p.m. on most 3rd Mondays. Meetings are currently virtual at 6 p.m. For agenda, visit: acgov.org/bc/cvmac

Summer Concert Series (September)

The Castro Valley Library is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 2024 Summer Concert Series. Taking place on the second Thursday evening of the month from July through September, the shows feature a diverse collection of artists and musical genres.

Broken Compass Bluegrass headlines our last show on Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 pm. Recognized for their tight arrangements, tasteful picking, and distinguished songwriting, BCB have quickly established themselves as one of California’s most prominent up-and-coming string bands.

No registration is required for these shows. Bring your lawn chairs…bring the family…bring a picnic! 

Because these are outdoor events, automobile parking will be limited at the library. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Alameda County Library property.  The library is unable to provide chairs for these events.

Summer Concert Series (August)

The Castro Valley Library is thrilled to announce the lineup for the 2024 Summer Concert Series. Taking place on the second Thursday evening of the month from July through September, the shows feature a diverse collection of artists and musical genres.

On Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 pm, is local vocalist and blues harmonica virtuoso Mark Hummel. Mark, a Grammy nominee and winner of two Blues Music Awards, will blow you away with his performances of West Coast blues, Delta blues, Chicago blues, swing and jazz!

Broken Compass Bluegrass headlines our last show on Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 pm. Recognized for their tight arrangements, tasteful picking, and distinguished songwriting, BCB have quickly established themselves as one of California’s most prominent up-and-coming string bands.

No registration is required for these shows. Bring your lawn chairs…bring the family…bring a picnic! 

Because these are outdoor events, automobile parking will be limited at the library. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Alameda County Library property.  The library is unable to provide chairs for these events.

First up is Dee Coco & Co on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 pm. You’ll enjoy the ultimate party band! Dee Coco Johnson and her band do it all, covering your favorite R&B, Funk, Soul and Rock songs. They’ll have you up and dancing!

'Renaissance to Rock' Summer Concert

'Renaissance to Rock' Summer Concert

The Douglas Morrison Chorus will be presenting another "not to be missed" summer concert. The "Renaissance to Rock" theme includes music from Vivaldi to Woodstock, with a wide variety of sweet, joyous and fun music. Cesar Cancino will be directing and entertaining with his usual witty explanations and comments about the selections. The outstanding chorus, talented soloists, and instrumental accompanists promise a great concert.

Performances will be at the Douglas Morrison Theater, 22311 "N" Third St., Hayward, on Friday August 12th at 8:00pm and Sunday August 14th at 2:00pm. Hey Jude Summer Concert

Join us for an outdoor concert featuring Hey Jude at the Castro Valley Library on Thursday, July 28 at 6:30 pm. 

Hey Jude hails from Vacaville and the SF Bay Area. They play energetic and accurate versions of music from the 60's and 70's, with an emphasis on The Beatles catalog. Get ready for a concert full of music you can sing and move to! 

 Registration is required. Choose “Events” on our web site at www.aclibrary.org. Bring your lawn chairs…bring the family…bring a picnic! 

 Because this is an outdoor event, automobile parking will be limited at the library. We will be maintaining social distancing practices and following all local health precautions and guidelines. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Alameda County Library property.

Jenny Lin Foundation Summer Youth Concert 2022

Join us on Saturday, July 16, for Jenny Lin Foundation’s youth concert that showcases the talent and hard work of its summer program participants in three ensembles: Band (directed by Travis Nasatir), Orchestra (directed by Greg Conway), and Choir (directed by Kaia Richards).

Jenny Lin Foundation was established in 1994 following the senseless murder of 14-year-old Jenny Lin.   Since then thousands of Bay Area young musicians have benefited from the summer music program offered each year free of charge in Castro Valley. This year about 200 young people will be performing on stage at the community concert, sponsored by Chabot College.  Admission is free but tickets must be reserved in advance.

Summer Concert hosted by CV Library

Join us for an outdoor concert featuring the James Henry Trio at the Castro Valley Library on Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 pm. 

Back by popular demand, James Henry has toured internationally as a master percussionist. His soulful sound encompasses music from across the globe, including Afrofunk, Urban Caribbean, R&B, Reggae and more! Expect the unexpected!
