Lets Make Our Community Something to be Proud Of
While cities around the East Bay plan and develop new multi-unit housing and commercial developments including community gathering plazas, dining and entertainment areas, Castro Valley seems mired in the 1940s with run down commercial buildings and no city city center or community pedestrianised areas. The development of Castro Valley Market place and adjacent buildings is a good start. However, some commercial enterprises in the Market Place have left, leaving spaces vacant. Much of this slow development is due to our being unincorporated, and having to rely on the negligent graces of Alameda County. It is high time Castro Valley incorporated, allowing us to develop a new and beautiful down town, as well as add new housing. Lets make our community something to be proud of, and not just a commuter pass-through, and fast food tax base for Alameda County.
