Christmas Tree Lighting Event This Friday

Mother and daughter Leonor Segovia (at left) and Eleonor Arias of San Leandro swear they're not Santa's helpers, but just dressed up to go Christmas shopping Sunday at Castro Valley Village Shopping Center on Castro Valley Boulevard. They took a quick break at the tree, which will be the site of the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event on Friday, December 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The tree lighting itself will be at 6 p.m. The shopping center plans live music, entertainment and free photos with Santa. The festivities takes place outdoors near Loard’s Ice Cream and Nick the Greek.
