Canyon Middle School Varsity Flag Football Team
Our Athletes of the Week are the Canyon Middle School Varsity Flag Football team. The Condors defeated crosstown rivals Creekside Middle School Wildcats by a score of 12-8 in the 22nd Annual Battle of the Valley on Thursday, February 16, at John Brosnan field at Castro Valley High School. The schools held a unified moment of silence to honor the victims of the COVID pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and ongoing gun violence. Canyon 8th Grader Bellarice Climaco sang the National Anthem. Both schools' Cheer Teams also performed at halftime.
