Our Athletes of the Week are the Longhorns, a 5th Grade Flag Football Team that plays in the Castro Valley Next Level Sports Flag Football League. On March 5, the team won the season championship with a win over the Ducks by a score of 26 to 21. With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, and the only tie being with the same team it was an exciting game. The Longhorns were up in the first half, only to have the Ducks come back in the second, and ultimately the win went to the Longhorns. Next Level Sports is an independent league that offers students K-8th Grade a chance to learn and play sports like flag football, basketball, and volleyball.
