Destroying Private Property
Sunday, January 28: at 2:15 a.m., Sheriff's deputies arrested a 39-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of vandalism and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. A business manager spotted the man defacing the building on Lake Chabot Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when he called authorities. The suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Wanted Woman Resisted Arrest
Saturday, January 27: at 1:03 a.m., a 52-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for her arrest. Deputies responded to a call from Eden Medical Center security about a disruptive visitor. The woman was previously charged with defacing public property. When deputies tried to serve the warrant, the woman became confrontational. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail.
Shoplifter Caught
Thursday, January 25: at 7:38 p.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted robbery at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. The woman was stopped by store security trying to leave with a large amount of unpaid merchandise. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail.
Attempted Robbery
Thursday, January 25: at 11:46 p.m., a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery at a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. Deputies were called to the scene following a call about a customer leaving with a lot of groceries without paying. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Violated the Terms of His Parole
Monday, January 22: at 9:02 p.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole and possessing illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was spotted traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Park Way when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. Deputies took the man into custody.
Possession of a Stolen Car and Property
Monday, January 22: at 9:56 a.m., a 24-year-old woman with no permanent residence was arrested as part of a warrant issued for her arrest for a previous conviction of driving a stolen vehicle. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning on John Drive near Castro Valley Boulevard. The woman was also found in possession of stolen property. Deputies took the woman to Santa Rita Jail.
