Breaking and Entering
Saturday, January 29: at 10:50 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 58-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of breaking and entering into a restricted area behind a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. The man was seen damaging private property with the intent to access a locked area. Deputies report the man was in contempt of a court order for him to stay away from the store. He was also found to have methamphetamine drugs in his possession. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Contempt of Court Order
Saturday, January 29: at 1:46 p.m., a 34-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order. Deputies report the man was within a 100-foot radius of a business he had been asked to stay away from on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Driving Under the Influence and Above the Limit
Sunday, January 30: at 7:00 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 73-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The woman was traveling on Redwood Road near Vestal Avenue when deputies stopped her for a traffic violation. The woman failed her field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Spousal Assault
Friday, January 28: at 10:00 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home near the intersection of Redwood Road and Seven Hills Road. There, they arrested a 65-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal assault. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Public Intoxication, Take 1
Friday, January 28: at 1:57 p.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Strobridge Avenue when deputies caught up with her and smelled alcohol on her breath. The woman failed her field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.
Public Intoxication, Take 2
Friday, January 28: at 1:57 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies report stopping the man for questioning outside a home on Wilbeam Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.
Stolen Property
Friday, January 28: at 3:00 p.m., deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of stolen property. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Rutledge Road when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. Deputies took him into custody.
Two Violated Business Restraining Order
Wednesday, January 26: at 11:59 a.m., two men with no permanent residences were arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order for a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. A 34-year-old man and a 48-year-old man were spotted loitering within the 100-feet required by the order. A store manager called in to report the men. Deputies took the men into custody.
Drunk and Disorderly Outside Hospital
Tuesday, January 25: at 5:50 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 34-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in public at the John George Psychiatric Hospital on Fairmont Drive. Hospital staff report the woman arrived at the scene intoxicated and confrontational with staff and began to disrupt hospital operations. Deputies report the woman resisted arrest and assaulted a peace officer. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
Family Fight
Tuesday, January 25: at 12:37 p.m., a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of spousal assault. Deputies were called to the scene following a report of a disturbance at a home on Center Street near Heyer Avenue. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
