Contempt of Court
Sunday, October 17: at 6:42 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 58-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating the terms of a court-issued restraining order. The man was spotted within a restricted 100-foot radius of a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Miguel Avenue. Deputies made the positive identification of the man and took him into custody.
Public Intoxication
Sunday, October 17: at 3:47 p.m., a 55-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies were called to the Castro Village shopping center after receiving reports of a man with slurred speech and smelling of alcohol. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Methamphetamine Drugs
Sunday, October 17: at 1:18 p.m., deputies arrested a 34-year-old man with no permanent residence on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and related drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. Deputies took the man into custody.
Wanted Man
Saturday, October 16: at 6:59 p.m., a 34-year-old man was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road and made the positive identification. The man had previously been charged with grand theft auto, two counts of possession of stolen property, and possession of illegal narcotics. Deputies also found drugs and drug-related paraphernalia in his pockets. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail.
Driving Drunk and Drugged
Saturday, October 16: at 10:22 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 24-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road when deputies stopped him for expired vehicle registration. Deputies report the man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Drugs and Drink
Saturday, October 16: at 7:46 p.m., a 45-year-old man with no permanent residence was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, possession of illegal narcotics, and illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies caught up with the man at the interchange of Mattox Road and Castro Valley Boulevard. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
One Too Many
Wednesday, October 13: at 5:19 p.m., deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Stanton Avenue when deputies approached him for questioning. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.
Impaired Driving and Fighting
Monday, October 11: at 5:11 p.m., a 59-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and assault on a family member. Deputies stopped the woman in front of a business on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center after observing her driving erratically. The passenger noted that the woman had also been hitting them. Deputies took the woman into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.
Resisting Arrest
Monday, October 11: at 6:42 a.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of resisting arrest. The woman was traveling on Anita Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies stopped her for questioning. The woman became confrontational and refused to cooperate. Deputies handcuffed the woman and took her into custody.
