Castro Valley Arts Foundation presents Tom Lorentzen as the third speaker in  their Speaker Series, Wednesday, April 16 in the Exhibition Room at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts (19501 Redwood Road). He will discuss Mission: Impossible—The Man Behind the Story.                                                  

The popular TV series and Mission: Impossible movies were based on the real-life adventures of Robert Mahue.  The enigmatic Mahue and Castro Valley’s own Tom Lorentzen were close personal friends and business partners.  Come hear Lorentzen’s first-hand stories of this man of intrigue and danger.  Glimpse the worlds of the FBI, CIA, the Kennedys, and Howard Hughes. Mahue’s life touched many of the important events of the 20th century. 

Tom Lorentzen has also lived a storied life, serving in appointed roles under three U.S. Presidents.  He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve on the National Board to the Institute of Museum & Library Services. He also served as Senior Consultant to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Commission and the Ronald Regan Presidential Foundation.  Currently, Lorentzen is a faculty member of the Hutton House Lecture Program at Long Island University and writes a bi-weekly column for the Castro Valley Forum.
