Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Candidate Forum

The LWVEA is hosting a virtual Candidate Forum to help you learn more about candidates running for the Hayward Area Recreation and Park Board of Directors. The Candidates invited to participate include Louis Manuel Andrade, Joseph Grcar, Rick Hatcher, Kenneth Owen, Luis Reynoso, and Peter Rosen. Registration is required so that we can safely get the participation link to you. LWVEA invites voters to attend upcoming events to learn more about local candidates running for office and learn about each Proposition on the 2024 General Election Ballot. Questions for Zoom events may be submitted on the Registration Page. CV Democratic Club Candidate Endorsement Meeting

The Castro Valley Democratic Club will host a candidate endorsement meeting on Sunday, August 18, from 1-4 pm, at the San Lorenzo Library, 395 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo. Democratic Candidates from the following offices are participating: Oro Loma Sanitary District, Eden Township Healthcare District, Bay Area Rapid Transit District 5, and AC Transit District 6.

The public is invited, but only eligible members of the Castro Valley Democratic Club will vote for endorsements. Questions from the audience will be submitted in writing and screened by the Club's moderator.

At their last endorsement meeting, the Castro Valley Democratic Club endorsed:
HARD Board of Directors At Large Candidates: Louis Andrade, Rick Hatcher, and Peter Rosen;
CVUSD Board of Trustees Area 1: Dolly Adams, Trustee Area 2: Lavender Whitaker and Trustee Area 5: Michael Kusiak; and
CV Sanitary District Board of Directors At Large Candidates: Danny Akagi, Timothy McGowan, and Dave Sadoff.

LWV “Meet Your Electeds” In-Person Event

The League of Women Voters of the Eden Area (LWVEA) invites you to a free event called “Meet Your Electeds,” to be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 5:30-7:30pm.  This event will be held at the Council Chambers of Hayward City Hall, 777 B St., Hayward, CA 94541.

The League has invited elected officials from Hayward, San Leandro, Castro Valley, and San Lorenzo to the event. Anyone is welcome at the event, but registration is requested and space is limited. Please register using this link: https://bit.ly/LWVEA-Meet-The-Elected-Mar16

Light refreshments will be served. We will hear from some of the newly elected officials. The League will also be celebrating International Women’s Day at the event.

Free Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters Alameda County will be conducting two free candidate forums featuring candidates for Alameda County District Attorney, and Board of Supervisors District 3, on Monday, September 19, 2022. The meetings will be held virtually over Zoom.

The District Attorney (DC) Candidate Forum will be held at 6 PM. Candidates for the DA runoff election are Pamela Price and Terry Wiley. The Board of Supervisors (BOS) District 3 candidate forum will be held at 7 PM. Candidates for the BOS District 3 runoff election are Lena Tam and Rebecca Kaplan.

Registration is required for these Candidate Forums. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting and how to submit questions. Registered participants may submit questions in advance for these candidate forums. Questions will not be received during the forums.
