BODA BABES RIDE! is a really different story of 3 women who buy a used motorcycle in Africa. WHY? To deliver the bike to an award winning wildlife ranger. BODA BABES RIDE! is a comedy/drama/road movie starring trio Tiffany Coates—who’s ridden more miles on a motorcycle than any woman ever, Nicole Espinosa—motorcycle part designer, and Castro Valley’s very own adventurer/producer/editor Lorraine Chittock.

Documentary Screening at the Castro Valley Library
Join the Castro Valley Library for a special screening of the award-winning documentary Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America on Sunday, February 18 at 2 pm. Running time: 2 hours. Rated PG-13.
Interweaving lecture, personal anecdotes, interviews, and revelations, the documentary draws a stark timeline of anti-black racism in the United States, from slavery to the modern myth of a post-racial America.
In 2011, criminal defense and civil rights attorney Jeffery Robinson began raising his then 13-year-old nephew and, as a Black man raising a Black son, struggled with what to tell his son about racism in America. How, he wondered, did we get here? And when he started looking at our Nation’s history, Robinson was shocked by what he had not known. For the past 10 years, in community centers, concert halls, houses of worship, and conference rooms across America, he has been sharing what he learned. And now his lecture and interviews have been turned into this gripping documentary.
According to one reviewer: “Jeffery Robinson is precise, empathetic, and informed. He is every teacher you might have wished for as a student.”
No advance registration required. For information about this and other events, visit www.aclibrary.org or call 510/667-7900.

Building Hope for Mental Health
Initiating a conversation about mental health might feel uncomfortable, but with each discussion, Z-Cares chips away at stigma, dismantle barriers, and provide crucial support to those closest to us during their most challenging times. We acknowledge that mental health is not solely an individual responsibility but a reflection of community awareness and involvement. The simplest and most impactful way to support someone grappling with a mental health challenge is to extend a hand and assure them you're there.
In this full length independent documentary, we follow four youth, (one attended CVUSD Schools), struggling with mental health as they change their journey from a sense of despair to find their pathway to hope.
We hope you will join CVUSD and Z-Cares on February 6th. Please use the link below to register for this free event.
