Ban on Purchases of Combustion Engines is Destructive to Our Infrastructure
I’m concerned that California’s January 1, 2024 very significant ban on the new purchases of small internal combustion engines is destructive to the resilience of our community infrastructure. New is purhaps more reliable and often more available than used.
On December 13, 2023 President Biden made a three minute statement to a group working on our country's infrastructure. He firmly stressed “...resilience...”. ( I found this unedited on YouTube.)
This says resilience is concidered a good thing in our country’s infrastructure.
Some years earlier, a prior President said something unforgettable, as I hope my quote comes close.
“Ask not what your country can do for you! Ask what you can do for your country!”
He breathes words of incentive for individuals who may take initiative. These words sometimes live in a resonance that an Individual may like or reflect upon. One might not feel too small to be a viable free agent contributing to the “...resilience...” of our infrastructure. What a concept!
I find respect for some of our ancestral roots who touched their names to a Document dated July 4, 1776. This brings to view, “inalienable rights”. I appreciate this stated early on.
Not all infrastructure is gigantic or even large. Our current infrastructure of new small internal combustion related tooling is adaptable & more easily creative for diverse needs and scalable with no size too small, without missing the middle sizes.
Yes, I was blessed to have done some walk behind rototilling in my younger days. I haven't seen the harm assessments to take these small new engines from entering the individually inspired infrastructure resilience that builds our stability and strength as a free people.
My individual creativity with mechanical constructs has felt like a wonderful gift all my life as I am so thankful! Tools are certainly extensions of ourselves. Here in, I stand small and resilient.
