Nate Miley Solves Problems and Get Things Done

I am writing in response to the letter from Penelope Anne Hughes (Feb 14, 2024) I have a different opinion.

-With three newer members on the county Board of Supervisors, this is not a time to throw the baby out with the bath water. Nate Miley’s leadership is vital for his knowledge of current and past policies/projects as the board works in collaboration with other county entities.

-At a recent Hayward Democratic Club meeting, when asked to list the communities included in District 4, Esteen could not name all the communities correctly and included areas outside the district.

-Have you noticed evidence of side shows (burn circles) on Lake Chabot Rd and Crow Canyon…and all the cross streets on Norbridge?  Miley and the BOS passed an ordinance to fine people who attend those events.  Esteen voiced opposition to the law.

While it’s easy to criticize others for what has not gotten done, we should not overlook what they HAVE done.  A few important accomplishments of Nate Miley:

a. Supported the public/private partnership that created the Castro Valley Marketplace Project and was involved in the Lake Chabot Public Market as well

b. Advocated for the veterans to get the old library for future activities and services

c. Obtained the funding for construction of the REACH Ashland Youth Center and allocates $500,00 a year from his budget to help pay for operations

c. Supported the funding, planning, and construction of the New Cherryland Community Center that opened in July 2021

In quiet but effective ways, Nate Miley solves problems and knows how to get things done.  For that reason, he gets my vote.
